Following the baptism of our newest great nephew (and the chance to hug the rest of my siblings progeny!) we headed home, stopping at Hy-Vee to set up for tomorrow. This is national teacher appreciation week, and the retired teachers here in Watertown will recognize all staff at all public schools with a brown bag lunch. Tomorrow morning at 8:00 am, we will meet in the club room at Hy-Vee and pack. Then, Tuesday morning, bright and early, volunteers will deliver a multitude of boxes containing lunches to each of the public schools. And on top of those boxes? Why, a little sweet reminder of the amazing things teachers do for our society.
If you can spare the time, why not thank a teacher this week. Maybe it's one who made a difference in your life. Maybe it's one who is making a difference in your child's life. Or maybe, it's one you don't even know, but want them to know they are appreciated. What a sweet thing to do. And remember, you are loved!
